On November 28, Müge Yılmaz will give her end of residency lecture and launch the first edition of the booklet series "Future Guide for the Salty Forager". Besides, Katía Truijen and Radna Rumping from LOOM, practice for cultural transformation, will give their start of residency lecture and introduce their research project "Rhine River Rehearsal – Reimagining a River."
Müge Yılmaz: S.A.L.T.
In the past academic year (2023/24), Müge Yılmaz partnered with the research group Art & Spatial Praxis on the Materiality Research Studio, part of the Climate Imaginaries at Sea project. Yılmaz's work, which is rooted in feminist science fiction, explores the impact of salinisation on soil and architecture. During her residency, she worked with students from the Textile and Architectural Design departments. She collaborated with scientific and agricultural partners, investigating bio-saline farming and aquaculture in the context of rising sea levels.

On November 28, Yılmaz will present her findings and share insights from her residency. She will also launch the first edition of the booklet series "Future Guide for the Salty Forager".
LOOM: Rhine River Rehearsal – Reimagining a River
This academic year (2024/25), the research group Art & Spatial Praxis is excited to announce LOOM, practice for cultural transformation as their new partner in the Climate Imaginaries at Sea project. Katía Truijen and Radna Rumping will introduce their current research project "Rhine River Rehearsal – Reimagining a River."

This artistic research aims to explore the Rhine’s evolving landscape in response to climate change by collecting stories, samples, and voices from diverse communities along the river. The project seeks to challenge conventional ideas of progress and growth while documenting the river’s complex and fluid nature.

This project is a collaboration between LOOM, the research group Art & Spatial Praxis, Goethe-Institut Niederlande, Borderland Residencies, and Campingplatz Grietheort, all of whom support the project.
