Talk by IPOP (In Pursuit of Otherwise Possibilities) followed by a conversation with Emirhakin
During their talk IPOP will share insights from their Queer Feedback Sessions—an artistic pedagogical research project exploring theories and methodologies for queering performance feedback while supporting the development of LGBTQ+ artists.

Artist Emirhakin will go into conversation with IPOP to discuss the potential of feedback as a performative practice and otherwise possible relationships between material-driven and performance-based art education. How can we explore connections that might otherwise remain unnoticed in material practices through queer methodologies and feedback approaches?

IPOP (In Pursuit of Otherwise Possibilities)
In Pursuit of Otherwise Possibilities, Queer Performance Pedagogy and Feedback (IPOP) is an educational, artistic research platform exploring how educational institutions can better foster queer artists and practices. Established in 2021 by its coordinators, Elioa Steffen and Szymon Adamczak, and in collaboration with alex blum, the project has organized three editions of its experimental, communal Queer Feedback Sessions at the Academie voor Theater en Dans. Through workshops and teach-ins IPOP offers conceptual and practical frameworks to approach feedback from need-based perspectives. IPOP explores a dearth of pedagogical practices designed for the specific needs and worldviews of LGBTQ+ students. "Queering Artistic Feedback" (2022) is IPOP's first publication and can be read for free at IPOP's website.

Materiality Research Group
This talk is part of a series of events conocted by the Materiality Research Group (Anja Groten and Márk Redele), and kindly funded by CoECI. The Materiality Research Group revisits the role of workshops and their pedagogies, asking how material comes to matter in the face of contemporary social and ecological challenges.
