The EU-funded project CrAFt – Creating Actionable Futures is looking for up to 7 students in Amsterdam, Bologna and Prague who are passionate about climate action and urban transformation to join CrAFt’s Core Group of Students for a minimum of six months, starting from 27 September 2024. Art students from Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Amsterdam University of the Arts are in particular encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications is already on 15 September 2024.

This is an exciting chance to be part of a Europe-wide initiative aimed at supporting cities in their journey to becoming climate-neutral by 2030. Through international collaborations, students will explore the intersection of aesthetics, sustainability, and inclusion as essential elements of a just transition towards green city futures.

The group starting in September 2024 will have the unique opportunity to travel to Milan to participate in the CrAFt Student Think/Do Tank and the ELIA Biennial Conference: Arts Plural.

Members of the CrAFt Core Group will:

Collaborate online and in-person with fellow students from Amsterdam, Bologna, Prague, and Trondheim.

Host a Think/Do Tank event for local and international students in Milan on 19 November 2024.

Support European cities, including their own, in becoming climate neutral.

Propose participatory models for urban transformation, inspired by artistic methods and artistic intelligence.

Enhance their professional skills through interdisciplinary work and international collaboration.

CrAFt is looking for students who:

Are enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters, or pre-Masters programme during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Are interested in using participatory and artistic methods for urban transformation.

Have a strong desire to contribute to their cities’ transformation.

Are eager to drive change towards climate neutrality in urban areas.

Wish to develop their professional skills and gain valuable experience.

Are excited about working across disciplines and exploring diverse collaboration models.
