Our colleagues at ARIAS are producing a four-part podcast series [un]learning scripts. What does it mean to [un]learn scripts? Different guests answer this question by bringing forward their practices and ways of knowing through topics like storytelling, archives, touch, emotion, rehearsal, and illness. Together, they seek to understand which stories matter and for whom, and to challenge the limiting, violent, and dominant scripts guiding the specific roles we perform in modern society. These scripts, however, are not written in ink - there are always possibilities to rewrite, revise and redefine them.
For the initial four episodes, nine artists-researchers who hosted a session together were invited to reflect on and deepen their initial exchange. They unpack what it means to [un]learn narratives that have been inscribed in us by discussing topics close to their various artistic practices.
Episode 1: [un]learning through touch and not-knowing with Rita Sousa and Kiek Korevaar
In the first episode we delve into the topic of embodied feminist knowledge, pedagogical thinking, and sensory learning - especially through touch, movement, and the experience of not-knowing. Our guests introduce movement methods and physical exercises that open up new ways of connecting with others through play and presence. You'll hear how their individual and collective artistic practices have evolved over time, and get a glimpse into the experiences and methods they hope to cultivate in the future.

Episode 2: [un]learning through (emotional) archives with Mariana Lanari and Joanne Igbuwe
In this second episode, we approach the archive as a source of knowledge, as a garden, as a storage, as a place of encounters for different stories. In our conversation, the guests address prevailing hierarchies of knowledge within the making of archives, whether on an institutional or personal level, and engage into a critical understanding of their artistic practices in relation to the process of archiving.

Episode 3: [un]learning through rehearsal with Linnea Langfjord Kristensen and Laura Dubourjal
In this third episode, you can hear about the practice of rehearsal as a tool for radical imagination, about methods that the guests work with, and about how [un]learning through storytelling and repetition techniques, can open up a space for questioning hierarchies of conflict and power.
