Victoria Meniakina

Victoria Meniakina (LT, 1988) is a researcher, educator and strategic advisor with a background in architecture. Victoria works closely with architects, designers, artists, academic and cultural institutions, providing creative and strategic advice on their positioning, content, strategy and communication.

Victoria holds degrees in architecture, strategy and expanded publishing methods in Contemporary Art and Design. She has been involved internationally in France, United States, Singapore, Lithuania, Italy and The Netherlands through her research, studies and professional experience. Victoria is a tutor at Architectural Design department of Gerrit Rietveld Academie and at Interior Architecture and Furniture Design department of the Royal Academy of the Art in The Hague (KABK). She also gives workshops at international art academies and residencies.

Victoria's research interests lie broadly at the intersection where spaces, places, sites and architectural history are entangled with climate & (post)colonial infrastructures, plants & their journeys, plantationocene, critical geography, landscapes & cartographies, environmental humanities, and social & species justice. She is particularly interested in artistic research methods, including but not limited to (sensory) mapping, field research, critical engagement with archives, non-western/indigenous epistemologies as well as expanded modes of publishing.
